About Pawsibilities Animal Rescue

Pawsibilities Animal Rescue was originally conceived by cousins Samantha Carroll and Melanie Tramontina in the summer of 1998, when they filled the family barn with distressed goats and chicks from a nearby farm.  Officially named in 2009 by Samantha and classmate Emily Broschart, it is located in Harleysville, Pennsylvania, and is a non-profit, no-kill shelter dedicated to serving animals in need. We provide a safe and loving environment for domestic and farm animals that have been abused, abandoned, neglected, or simply unloved. We provide shelter and care to all types of animals including cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, sheep, goats and more! Our hope is to rehabilitate and re home as many animals as physically and financially possible.  We also have many resident animals that provide friendship and act as shelter ambassadors.

Samantha Carroll, Veterinary Technician – Director
Samantha currently works as PAWS veterinary technician and is the medical director of our rescue. With a love for animals that stems from childhood, it has always been her dream to own an animal rescue. Now, her dream has come true. With the help of family and friends, Samantha is able to provide care for hundreds of animals each year. As a child she and Melanie would bring home injured and homeless animals in an effort to enrich their lives, and that passion has followed them into adulthood. Samantha is a graduate of Harcum College completing her internship at the University of Penn Veterinary College in 2009 and has participated in the local 4-H program since 1996.

Melanie Tramontina, Veterinarian Studies at U of Penn
Melanie is currently a veterinary student at University of Pennsylvania, and serves with Samantha on the board of directors of PAWS Rescue. Their hunger for knowledge and love for animals, large and small, is truly contagious.
